Dr Emilia Prakoso

Dr Prakoso obtained her medical degree in 1997 from Airlangga University in Surabaya, Indonesia. She completed her physician and gastroenterology and hepatology training at RPAH, and in 2008 she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), and received her gastroscopy and colonoscopy training recognition from the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) Conjoint Committee.

Dr Prakoso has further qualifications, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine at the University of Sydney (2014), focusing on ductular reaction in hepatitis C recurrence post-liver transplantation, and a Graduate Diploma in Health Science in Health Information Management (2000) from the University of Sydney. She was a recipient of the Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship/International Postgraduate Award from the University of Sydney.

Dr Prakoso is actively involved in education and training programs for medical students, registrars, general practitioners, and other clinicians. She is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.

She is a co-investigator in many clinical trials and she has published widely with presentations at local, national and international conferences.

Dr Prakoso is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), the Australia Liver Association (ALA), the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), and the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL).
